Appling for a grant

Who can apply?
Currently, the Foundation is accepting grant applications only from those organizations that received at least one grant from the Foundation between 2000 and 2007. Such organizations should have received ACCESS CODE which opens the grant application page of this website. The ACCESS CODE was sent to the qualified organizations by no later than February 1, 2008.

The E. Nakamichi Foundation makes grants only to qualified tax-exempt organizations and not to individuals. Only those organizations, registered as a 501(c) (3) non-profit corporation under the Internal Revenue Code, are eligible. Grants are not made to individuals for independent study, research, travel or participation in a musical event. However, in rare occasions the Foundation may give a grant to qualified organizations for the purpose of providing scholarships to students engaged in the advanced study of baroque and classical music.

Prospective grantee organizations must have received the ACCESS CODE from the Foundation in order to proceed with the online grant application. The Foundation will process the mailed-in grant application only if the applicant submit an online application prior to the semi-annual deadlines.

For what purposes are grants made?
The Foundation was established to encourage the propagation and appreciation of baroque and well-known early classical music. Therefore, the majority of grants are given to the qualified organizations for the purpose of underwriting performances of the baroque and classical music and/or their broadcast on public television or radio.
